Kordil TG05 Radar Tide Gauge
Kordil TG05 Radar Tide Gauge is a non-contact tide and water-level monitoring system combining an 80 GHz FMCW radar transducer with a stainless-steel housing and a TG05 monitoring and data-logging unit. Installed above the water, the sensor measures distance to the surface without submerged measurement equipment. The system supports harbour, coastal, river, reservoir and lake monitoring.

Water-level monitoring and recording
The monitoring unit provides a touchscreen interface, real-time water-level display and data logging for on-site observation and longer-term records. Wi-Fi and internet connectivity support the system's connected monitoring arrangement. Radar distance measurements are related to the installed sensor reference; a defined mounting elevation and reference datum are needed when interpreting readings as water-level elevations.
Above-water installation avoids placing the radar transducer in the water. The stainless-steel sensor housing, lens antenna and bracket or threaded mounting provide a compact arrangement for fixed monitoring locations. Configurable distance range and unwanted-echo filtering help adapt the sensor to the installation.

Sensor accuracy and IP protection refer to the radar transducer; installed water-level performance also depends on mounting stability, reference-level setup and site conditions.
Applications and installation
- Coastal tide and harbour water-level monitoring
- River and open-channel level measurement
- Reservoir, dam and lake monitoring
- Water-level input for flood monitoring and early-warning systems
- Fixed offshore platform and water-storage tank monitoring
- Long-term water-level records and tidal datum studies
Mount the radar perpendicular to the water surface with a clear measurement path. Keep walls, supports and other objects outside the beam to limit false echoes. Set the measurement range and reference level to suit the expected water-level variation, then check the readings against the site reference during commissioning.
For a quotation, provide the monitoring location, expected sensor-to-water distance, mounting arrangement, available power and communications, and the required reference datum.
