Deployment and survey planning
Choose towing or pole mounting to suit the boat and survey area. Provide a compatible GPS input for georeferencing, and plan overlapping lines so that targets can be checked from more than one direction.

Preparing a portable survey
Before mobilising, check the available PC, positioning input and the planned cable route. Choose a deployment arrangement that keeps the sonar clear of obstructions and allows the operator to monitor the recording while underway. Begin with a short test line to review image quality and coverage before surveying the full area. Keep notes of the mounting arrangement and operating settings so subsequent survey lines can be compared consistently.
