Stable image acquisition
Select ballast or downforce equipment to suit the required towfish trajectory. The standard configuration serves general imaging; the SAR version uses a 680 kHz channel tuned for victim search. Confirm the complete tow arrangement when specifying the system.
Preparing the towing arrangement
Choose the towing arrangement with the survey vessel, handling equipment and expected operating conditions in mind. Document the cable deployed and the method used to relate towfish position to the vessel navigation record. Review test imagery before beginning production lines, and keep the deployment configuration consistent where possible. These records help the survey team investigate changes in image appearance and return to candidate targets during follow-up inspection.
