HydraSeis Seismic Streamer

Applied Acoustics HydraSeis is a modular digital seismic streamer system for ultra-high resolution marine geophysical acquisition. In-water 24-bit analogue-to-digital conversion and a network connection to the console support low-noise recording across multiple channels. The system is designed around 12- or 24-channel active sections, with configurations for both 2D and 3D surveys.

Modular receiver geometry

Each active section is 24 m long, with 1 m or 2 m group spacing depending on the configuration. One or two hydrophones per group are available, with other arrangements subject to project requirements. The selected sampling rate determines the maximum channel capacity: 96 channels at 16 kHz or 192 channels at 8 kHz. Optional bird-coil sections support compatible depth-control arrangements.

Recording and quality control

The HYD-DATA application records SEG-D data and includes navigation in the record header. Live shot, trace gather and navigation views help operators check acquisition while monitoring error reports and storage. Continuous sequential recording and external navigation integration allow the receiver data to be coordinated with source timing and the planned survey geometry.

Deployment and applications

HydraSeis supports marine geological studies, offshore engineering investigations and detailed route surveys. A suitable sound source, deck interface, tow leader and positioning arrangement are selected as a complete package. The streamer has a 30 m depth rating; this describes the submerged receiver equipment and is not a claim about maximum seabed investigation depth. Acoustic conditions, source choice and subsequent processing influence the quality of the final seismic section.
