GEM Systems GSMP-35G Potassium Gradiometer
GEM Systems GSMP-35G potassium gradiometer is a portable instrument for ground magnetic surveys and geophysical investigations. Optically pumped potassium technology supports sensitive magnetic-field and gradient measurements. The GSMP-35 is the magnetometer model; GSMP-35G identifies the gradiometer configuration.
Sensitivity of 0.0002 nT at 1 Hz, ±0.1 nT absolute accuracy and sampling up to 20 Hz help resolve subtle magnetic anomalies. A backpack configuration supports walking surveys, while GPS navigation assists survey-line tracking.
Applications
Magnetic mapping, alteration mapping, structural geology, archaeology and unexploded ordnance (UXO) target identification. The manufacturer also lists magnetic observatory measurements, volcanology and earthquake research among the applications of its potassium systems. GPS Navigation and GEMLink+ Software
GPS navigation supports real-time UTM and local-grid coordinate transformations, survey-line guidance and progression to the next line. Survey points can be prepared on a computer and transferred through RS-232 before fieldwork.
GEMLink+ magnetic-data processing software provides visualization, diurnal correction, profile plots, line-path maps and coordinate transformations, with KMZ import and export. GPS, multiple-sensor and VLF-EM options should be confirmed for the proposed configuration.
