Airmar 300WX-IP67 Weather Station
Airmar 300WX-IP67 is a marine weather station that combines ultrasonic wind measurement with air temperature, barometric pressure, GNSS positioning, compass and motion data in an IP67-rated housing. It is designed for weather monitoring on moving vessels, unmanned surface vehicles, buoys and offshore platforms.
On a moving vessel, the apparent wind detected by the sensor reflects both the surrounding wind and the vessel’s own movement. The 300WX-IP67 combines apparent wind measurements with GNSS-derived vessel motion and dynamically stabilised compass heading to account for the platform’s travel and calculate dynamic true wind speed and direction. This helps distinguish environmental wind conditions from the airflow created by the vessel as its speed or heading changes. A three-axis accelerometer and rate gyro also provide pitch, roll and rate-of-turn data.

Measured parameters
| Parameter | Range | Resolution | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wind speed | 0–40 m/s | 0.1 m/s | 1.5 knots RMS @ 20 knots |
| Wind direction | 0–359.9° | 0.1° | 2.5° RMS @ 20 knots |
| Air temperature | −25 to +55 °C | 0.1 °C | ±1.1 °C @ 20 °C |
| Barometric pressure | 700–1100 hPa | 0.1 hPa | ±1 hPa @ 25 °C |
| Compass heading | 0–359.9° | 0.1° | 1° static; 2° dynamic |
| Pitch and roll | ±45° | 0.1° | ±1° within ±30° |
| GNSS position | — | — | 2.5 m CEP (WAAS GPS) |
Additional outputs include speed over ground (SOG), course over ground (COG), time and rate of turn from the three-axis gyro. The brochure does not specify separate numerical accuracy for these outputs. —: Not specified in the brochure.
Calculated data
Dynamic true wind speed and direction are calculated from apparent wind, platform speed and heading.
